Driving has turned over a New Leaf!
Thursday, August 20, 2009

Zero emissions isn't a future endeavor. It isn't hype. It's happening. Right now Nissan is doing everything it takes to make electric driving a daily reality. Starting with a pure electric car; not a hybrid, not even a plug-in hybrid. But a true zero-emission electric car made for the real world of highways and everyday commuting.
Of course, the car is only part of the solution. Nissan has developed a lithium-ion battery that can be re-used. This is a brand-new way to move; driving electric. Welcome the all new Nissan Leaf!
The Nissan Leaf is a lithium-ion battery-powered, four-door family hatchback that will cost almost as much as a conventional C-segment car of the same size.
Zero emissions does not mean performance compromises. The Nissan leaf hits a top speed of 90 mph, has a range of 100 miles per charge, and features seat cushion-compressing acceleration that will launch it from zero to 30 mph in just about a couple of seconds, thanks to 207 pound-feet of torque from its 80 kilowatt (107 horsepower) electric motor.
We at Napleton's Nissan,(Riviera Beach) eagerly look forward to the Nissan leaf, which is expected to hit the US roads by 2010.
