The mid-level Maxima SR is Nissan's take on a sporty four-door sedan. It includes all items found in the Maxima SV except those that have been upgraded. 

These include:

  • Paddle shift levers
  • Memory System for the driver's seat and outside mirrors.
  • Sport-tuned suspension with retuned dampers, stiffer springs and a larger front stabilizer bar. 
  • Finally, the interior is festooned with Premium Ascot leather-appointed seats with dynamic diamond-quilted Alcantara inserts.

The Maxima Platinum Xtronic CVT steps it up even further. It features everything found in the Maxima SR and adds:

  • 19-inch machine-finished aluminum alloy wheels
  • Rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers
  • Rear window power sunshade
  • Premium semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with dynamic diamond-quilted inserts. 
  • Finally, the Maxima Platinum dresses up the interior with the addition of Satin Birdseye Maple wood-tone faceted interior trim.

The Nissan Maxima Lays Down The Power

The Nissan Maxima is powered by an award-winning 3.5-liter V6 engine. Naturally aspirated, it delivers 300 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 261 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm. It is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), exclusively, in a front-wheel drive configuration.

Despite it being a front-wheel drive model, the Maxima incorporates Intelligent Trace Control, which employs light braking at the rear wheels in order to tighten the curve. Think of it as a form of brake-based torque vectoring.

All Nissan vehicles include a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty and a 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty.
